Wardance - 2013 RSYC Island Double Eddie Mays
The RSYC Extra Corona Island Double forecasts of 11-14 kts from the E-NE at 06.00 on Saturday 20th July were a welcome relief after a week of morning zephyrs and race postponements till afternoon sea breezes. With the weather set fair for the east-about race, the Race Management team arrived at RSYC's reciprocal Club on the island on Friday evening to find the ODM, Trinity Buoy, missing! Alongside it's location was Patricia, the Trinity House vessel, and a cleaned, shiny buoy was dropped back in the water later that night.

With an 06.00am first warning to take full advantage of the favourable tide, a great Island Double was anticipated. With no guns allowed in consideration of local residents, the starts were managed over the radio and all classes started on time.

Feedback from the 72 racers in the 34th Island Double was extremely positive and underlined why this challenging race remains a favourite fixture in the RSYC double handed calendar.
