Boy's loss a black day for sailing
by Ian Gordon, ex CYCA & RANSA on 20 Sep 2003
What a black day for sailing.
I first met Boy about 30 years ago at the CYCA, we did not sail together very often, a few times on 'Erica J'.
I did stand in for him one Saturday on Erica when I forgot that he told me the yacht carried a lot of way. You can guess what happened, a dodgy engine and too much way meant the stem and the marina walkway became very intimate.
Boy was a font of knowledge, any question about seamanship and sailing he could answer. I last saw Boy here in the Whitsundays when he visited on La Tortuga about four years ago. He will be missed by all.
My condolences to the family.
