Optimist Racing claireADB
This Year Australia's Optimist Worlds Team Coach Dave O'Connor will be attending QLD Youth Week and keeping his eye on the Optimist sailors who are showing the focus and determination it takes to make it to the top of the fleet. The most improved sailor during the regatta that Dave identifies will win a ride with the team on the Thurlow Fisher 18ft Skiff What's Dave looking for? We asked him and he explained... ' When I'm watching opti sailors and opti races there are some key things I focus on and they include…. One. Smooth boat handling skills, technique and efficient manoeuvres Two. Ability to have good boat positioning through better visual awareness and capitalise on opportunities that present them selves. Three. Consistency in results and continuous improvement. Good luck to all the sailors competing at QLD youth week, I look forward to seeing you all up there' The 18ft skiff sail date will be prior to the first race of the season on the 13th October 2013[Sorry, this content could not be displayed] If the winner is not from NSW they will have their airfare covered and transfer to and from the airport. The winner will be announced after the regatta at the Optimist presentation. Good luck and good sailing from the team at North Sails.
