Annapolis to Newport - Three finish, rest of fleet moving
by Chip Thayer on 11 Jun 2013

SW
In the 2013 Annapolis to Newport Race, three boats have finished. The good news is that the rest of the fleet is now moving. Donnybrook was second to finish at 7:17 this morning followed by Privateer at 12:22. Corsair and Irie reached the Block Island decision point at about the same time. Corsair had come up along the Long Island shore and chose to go inside Block, while Irie, a bit further offshore, elected to go around Block Island. It looks like Corsair has paid a fairly heavy price for that choice. Irie just finished and Corsair still has 10 miles to go. The battle between Decision and Rambler has been decided. Decision finished at 1:57 and did not save her time. With only Corsair left to finish in IRC I, it’s clear Rambler has won her class.
