Weymouth and Portland - Visit the 2012 Games sailing venue

With the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy located on shore a short distance from the cruise liner terminal, it is the perfect opportunity to pay a visit to a venue which played such an important part in the 2012 Games. Visitors can stop and have a drink in the Café whilst taking in the surroundings of the beautiful British coastline; you may even be lucky enough to spot an Olympian out training on the waters.

If you are visiting the area on a full day excursion, you may have time to try your hand at sailing or windsurfing on the Olympic waters, where WPNSA director and four times Olympics gold medallist Sir Ben Ainslie CBE won gold in the London 2012 Olympics.

Entry is free to the academy, and with the on-site sailing and windsurfing schools at SailLaser providing exciting experiences everyone is able to try their hand at sailing or windsurfing – all equipment and clothing being supplied. The huge success of the 2012 Games has put the WPNSA on the map as a must see place for all.
