Archambault 40 leads the fleet in 2012 - Tahiti Pearl Regatta 10th Edition Michele Rogers
The 10th edition of the Tahiti Pearl Regatta will get underway next week from Raiatea, Tahiti, in the leeward islands of the Society Archipelagoes.
Some new features in this regatta have attracted the entry of more than eight Oyster Yachts taking part in another event, the Oyster world rally. In addition to the excitement of the regatta 'coming of age' and in its 10th year, the courses this year is again different to challenge the navigators and skippers as they race for honours in this yachting paradise. I would assume the navigation of a 80 foot Oyster would be a challenge in this area, however as the lagoons are very deep they will be accommodated as easily as a Pogo 40 or a Charter Yacht.
This year we will be accompanied by three Australian and one New Zealand crew representing our part of the Pacific.
Stay tuned for divisional updates and mouthwatering images from this world class event.
