Laser Europa Cup - Greek talent excels in Marathon

Laser 4.7 racing in Marathon ISAF
Leg five of the 2013 Laser Europa Cup in Marathon, Greece provided the opportunity for Greek sailors in the circuit to measure themselves in the mostly breezy event.

After eight races and two discards, the Standard fleet was clearly dominated by Adonis Bougiouris (six points) who won every race bar one, and even having to discard a first place. Alexios Katsios(14 points) took second with Haris Papadopoulos also with (14 points) in third.

The Radial men leaders defended their positions with zeal throughout the event. The podium places went to Panos Efraimidis Synodinos (eight points), Nikolaos Theodorakis (15 points) and Ioannis Christofis (19 points).

Vasileia Karachaliou (32 points) ran away with the title in the Radial Women fleet followed by Athanasia Fakidi (44 points) in second place and rounding up the podium in third place was Vassiliki Zografou (57 points).

Dhmo Stasinopoulos (eight points) hung on to first place and won the title in the 4.7 boys category and there was a switch in the overall results on the last day between second and third places. Orestis Papadopoulos (17 points) taking second and Gregori Mazarakis (19 points) completing the podium.

Laser 4.7 girls winner Chrysanthi Chatzidimitriou (47 points) was followed by Konstantina Fotakaki (75 points) in second and Felizia Pellegrini (82 points) in Full results ISAF Website
