Cascais Dragon European Championship - New leader 'Out of Bounce'

In the Cascais BMW Dragon European Championships, which will come to a close tomorrow in the Bay of Cascais, the Portuguese continue to win. Today was Catarina III, Henrique Anjos /Joaquim Moreira/Pedro Costa Alemão, to claim the victory in the sixth and penultimate race.

Denmark’s, Out of Bounce, from Dane Jens Christensen, took the lead with Portugal’s Drago, José Matoso, being second, before event’s last race scheduled for tomorrow.


Catarina III, Henrique Anjos /Joaquim Moreira /Pedro Costa Alemão, won the only race scheduled for today and signed the third Portuguese victory in the Cascais BMW Dragon European Championship 2013. With the wind blowing eight knots from Southwest, Portugal’s crew ended with big advantage over the opponents, the British and current world champions, Lawrie Smith/Ossie Stewart/Tim Tavinor in Alfie. The current holder of the European title, the German Marcus Wieser/Sergey Pugachev/Georgii Leonchuk at Bunker Queen, was third.

Denmark’s Out of Bounce, Jens Christensen/Kim Andersen/Anders Bagger, took the lead changing positions with the Portuguese Drago, José Matoso/Gustavo Lima/Frederico Melo, who today were ranked 28th. The Germans Dottore Amore, Ingo Ehrlicher/Fritz Werner/Thomas Auracher are third.

Everything is still open in the fight for first place with six points separating the leader from the third. The last race of the Cascais BMW Dragon European Championship 2013, promises to be exciting.

Seven Seas Too, Diogo Barros / Jorge Lima / Rúbrio Basil, who was the leader before today’s races, was 38 and 34 respectively, and occupies the seventh position overall.

Another highlight of the day, among the Portuguese, is Christmas III, Rui Bóia/Duarte Neves/Guilherme Almeida/Miguel Guimarães, who climbed to eighth place, after being 15th in the race and the Seven Seas Too, Diogo Barros/Jorge Lima/Rúbrio Basílio which is now 10th overall.
