At the Cascais BMW Dragon European Championship, Portugal’s Seven Seas Too, Diogo Barros/Jorge Lima/ Rúbrio Basílio, is the new leader after the second day’s two races. It was a great day for the Portuguese crews with Drago’s, José Matoso/Gustavo Lima/Frederico Melo, being third in the overall. The event has the high patronage of the Câmara Municipal de Cascais and BMW. Clube Naval de Cascais and the International Dragon Association are the organizing authorities.

Great day for Portuguese colors in Cascais. With the wind blowing 13 knots from Southwest, two more races were completed. Koala Bear, Matt Whitnall/Christian Brook/Rob Bishop, won the first and Seven Seas Too, Diogo Barros/Jorge Lima/Rúbrio Basílio, took the second. In excellent plan also was José Matoso’s Drago, who was fourth, sixth and climbed to the third place overall.

At the first, the Koala Bear, Matt Whitnall/Christian Brook/Rob Bishop, who represents Britain, was always at the front and finished first. Germany’s Diavel, Vincent Hoesch/Michael Lipp/Peter Libner, and Dottore Amore, Ingo Ehrlicher/Werner Fritz/Thomas Auracher, were second and third. Drago, José Matoso, was fourth, while the Seven Seas Too, was eighth.

In the second of the day, Diogo Barros, Seven Seas Too, claimed the victory, after recovering a few places, followed by Russian’s Even Better, Vasiliy Senatorov/Igor Ivanshintsov/Alexander Muzichenko and Britons Quicksilver V, Robert Campbell/Leigh Behrens/Nick Carus. This was a very good race for the Portuguese fleet, with Drago to be sixth, the Christmas III, Rui Bóia/Duarte Neves/ Guilherme Almeida/Miguel Guimarães, finishing eighth and Peggy, Miguel Magalhães/Jorge Pinheiro de Melo/José Magalhães, tenth.

Diogo Barros was naturally pleased: 'I didn't expect to be in the lead of the race and we keep our goal which is to finish in the top 15. Today was excellent. We had good starts and strategy,' said the leader of the Cascais BMW Dragon European Championship 2013.

In general, it was an excellent day for the Portuguese fleet and the overall after three races are as follows:

13th Christmas III, Rui Bóia/Duarte Neves/ Guilherme Almeida/Miguel Guimarães
16th Lady Tati, Patrick Monteiro de Barros/Nuno Barreto/Rodrigo Vantacich
22nd Peggy, Miguel Magalhães/Jorge Pinheiro de Melo/José Magalhães
34th Dragul, José Bello/João Almeida Lopes/Gonçalo Lacerda
38th Pamalican V, Francisco de Lacerda/Diogo Lacerda/Francisco Andrade
49th Whisper, Mário Quina/Fernando Passeiro/Luis Mourão
52nd Tethys, José Carlos Pina/Filipe Loureiro/Miguel Tavares

For tomorrow, two more races are scheduled at 12:00 (local time) in the Cascais BMW Dragon European Championship 2013.
