Black Yacht wins Queensland IRC State Championships

Today, Sunday 17th March, Peter Harburg's 66ft Reichel Pugh, Black Jack won the 2013 Queensland IRC State Championships, followed closely by Sydney Vessel 'Vamp' skippered by David Fuller.

IRC Division two in the 2013 XXXX Sail Paradise Regatta was won by Brisbane's Blunderbuss, skippered by Tony Kinsman, this was no easy defeat by Southport Yacht Club vessel Alacrity, skippered by SYC's Vice Commodore of Sail, Matthew Percy.
The 'Go to Blazers' regatta was won by SYC Member Peter Pritchard, although SYC's Peter Lahey on Still Crazy performed fantastic winning all three races for the day.

PHS Spinnaker was won by George Filippow on Havachat and PHS Non Spinnaker by local SYC vessel Bridget, skippered by John Lucas.

Although capsizing on his last race Southport Yacht Club's own Sailing Administrator Kelvin Holdt won the Off the Beach Catamarans division with crew Kieran Dinghley on Comfortably Numb. And The Cruising Multihulls won by Tranquillity.
Principal Race Officer Denis Thompson looks forward to seeing all vessels and crews back at Southport Yacht Club for another successful Sail Paradise in 2014.
