Stefan opens new markets, Prizes & promos at Brisbane Tinnie & Tackle

by Jeni Bone, editor on 12 Mar 2013
I am not even going to mention the east coast weather, the heatwaves in the south and torrential rain and gloom in Queensland. Another cyclone coming to the coast of Queensland? We've lost track of their names.

Let's hope all the wet gets out of the system by May and the 25th Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, still working concertedly to assemble a world-class line-up to celebrate this quarter century milestone. There are several foundation exhibitors who will be back for 2013, so if you're one of them, let us know and we can cover your 25th too.

Of course, MarineBusiness-World and our sister sites will be there in force, some of our team traveling from OS for the event and the charismatic and talented interns back again for another hands-on taste of event media.

We are in the process of nutting out the details of a reader/visitor promotion and our presence and focus at this year's SCIBS so get in touch if you have a product launch or news for 2013.

This week, the exclusive audience with Stefan Ackerie - for it is an occasion whenever you meet the powerboat champ and Australian magnate who built an empire on hair (he still has 650 or so employees in his salon network).

His new premises at Coomera on the Gold Coast are as stylish and impactful as the man and his brand. But the substance behind the new concept - Stefan Boating World - is the true exclusive. Take a preview peek at the dynamic plans and a range that will appeal equally to consumers as to dealers.

Despite the weather, the Brisbane Tinnie & Tackle Show will be its customary success this coming weekend, coinciding with the Rosehill Trailer Boat Show in NSW, both with a retail focus and runs on the board with dealers over the years.

Our colleague, the youthful Bob Wonders will be attending both, and I will be in Brisbane with all the family for a hands-on taste of the latest in fishing, boating and 4x4 fun!

On the industry/trade event front, if you haven't already, register yourself and your team for Marine13, which is approaching quicker than Cyclone Sandra.

The Marine13 International Conference and Trade Exhibition is the boating industry’s first national conference, with a program of 50+ sessions across two-days, 28-30 April, covering a range of topics, catering for the diverse range of businesses that make up the boating industry. The full conference program is available online at www.marine13.com/program.php so get to it!

Finally, a look at the award-winning Quicksilver range from Brunswick Europe, now available in Australia through importer and distributor, Collins Marine. Peter Collins is very animated when he speaks about this addition to his offering, describing it as boasting 'Intelligent design and beautiful contemporary styling'. And Quicksilver will launch with a tagline that totally encapsulates the boating lifestyle and should be our industry's call to action: 'Life is Now'.

So, more than enough here to whet and sate your appetites, however they run.

More from us each and every day, and some major 'scoops', for want of a better turn of phrase, by the end of this week. Pop back daily and be the first to know!

Great boating!
