The MYC Women's Challenge successfully running 18 years

Helly Hansen is in its third year sponsoring Manly Yacht Club’s Women’s Challenge. The successful event is in its 18th year and has been strongly supporting and encouraging women and girls to get behind the wheel or tiller and helm a boat.

Manly Yacht Club fosters friendship and healthy competition in the sailing community and encourages Women entries from all clubs in Sydney.

Over time the entries have grown to approximately 12 divisions and features sailing races for every level of sailing experience. Manly Juniors ,spinnaker and non-spinnakers, centreboards, Access dinghy’s (handicapped sailors), One design classes such as Ynglings Access dinghy’s, Flying 11 and J24 are encouraged to enter in delegated divisions. A one design trophy will be presented to the largest one design fleet.

The event will attract approx. 45 boats - Helly Hansen are awarding prizes for each division and also for the largest one design fleet.

The hotly contested division is the all-girl crew Division 1. Best of luck to all the Women and girls and the men who crew for them.

Many thanks to the boat owners who show support and encouragement by lending their boats for this exciting event.
