Rolex Sydney Hobart 2012- Images of Tattersall's Cup Presentation

by Crosbie Lorimer on 29 Dec 2012
The winners of the Line Honours and Overall Handicap trophies (plus another Rolex watch to add to the collection won by Wild Oats XI over the years!). - Rolex Sydney Hobart Race 2012 Dale Lorimer
With 14 yachts tied up in Hobart at midday today and with none of the boats still at sea able to win the overall handicap trophy, the Race Committee confirmed that Wild Oats XI has won the George Adams Tattersalls Cup for the overall handicap winner, to add to her Line Honours win.

That makes it The Triple for Wild Oats XI (although as far as we know there is no trophy for holding the record fastest time to Hobart!).

Bob Oatley and Mark Richards were handed the Tattersalls Cup in a dockside presentation at midday today on a sunny and windy afternoon in Hobart.

Dale Lorimer was there to capture these images.

Meantime Crosbie Lorimer and the Japanese sailing journalist Yoichi Yabe took a boat down river to the Iron Pot to shoot the arrival of the Japanese boat KLC Bengal 7 as she blasted across Storm Bay and into the river.

Winds were up to 30+ knots as she and Ambersail - the Lithuanian Volvo 60 - smoked up the Derwent River in a big southerly. Pictures to follow shortly.
