The third day of the 2013 Audi Melges 20 Miami Winter Series, hosted by the Coconut Grove SC remained consistent with light air conditions prevailing for the final day of racing for Event No. 1 in the series, resulting in no races. The Race Committee started the day with an on land postponement due to lack of breeze - which lead to the cancellation of the two races scheduled for the remainder of the regatta.

Although the weather conditions were not perfect for sailing, the teams raced for two days and completed four races. Everyone in attendance has a blast on- and off-the-water and look forward to the remainder Series events happening in February and March.

Yesterday's results stand as is. Congratulations are in order for Russell Lucas and crew of Harry Melges III and Federico Michetti on Shimmer who take home the coveted first place trophy for the Audi Melges 20 Miami Winter Sailing Series Event No. 1.

The Eagan family (Marcus, Marc and Andrew) on Cajun Underwriting, a total Corinthian boat, finished with a well deserved and highly respected second place trophy. They also were named top Corinthian. John Kilroy on Samba Pa Ti rounds out the top rankings clinching third. Competition was intense for the forty-two boats in attendance, enjoying numerous lead changes and struggling with the challenging light air conditions. Congratulations to all participants for a job well done.

The International Audi Melges 20 Class Association (IAM20CA) and Coconut Grove Sailing Club (CGSC) look forward to hosting Event No. 2 of the Audi Melges 20 Miami Winter Series happening February 9-11, 2013. Audi Melges 20 owners worldwide are cordially invited to attend the event in beautiful Coconut Grove.
