Beneteau owners to battle it out!

by Creating Demand on 23 Oct 2012
Beneteau owners have a calendar of exciting events they can compete in. Creating Demand
The summer sailing season is about to heat up, with Beneteau owners presented with a number of opportunities to display their sailing prowess over the coming months.

The Queensland Beneteau Owners Group, together with major event sponsor Queensland Beneteau Yacht Dealer, Spirit Marine, will host their annual Queensland Beneteau Cup on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th of October. French fare will be the order of the event, with the French National Anthem played prior to the starting gun, and a French inspired dinner on the Saturday evening.

In terms of the very hard fought competition, the Beneteau Cup Performance Division will see a number of owners battling it out. Gary and Tracey McCarthy’s 34.7 Brilliant Pearl, Laurie Booth’s 44.7 Blue Dog, Tony Kinsman’s 40 Blunderbuss, Dave Waller and Jane Virtue’s 50 The Matrix, Peter Uscinski’s 42.7 Medina and Tam Faragher’s 44.7 Ultimate Positioning, will all fight it out for the illustrious 2012 Queensland Beneteau Cup.

The NSW crowd will also have their chance to prove their seafaring prowess when NSW Beneteau Dealer, Vicsail, hosts their 2012 Beneteau Cup on Friday 23rd of November on Sydney Harbour. Although the racing is sure to be fast and furious, Vicsail has presented another challenge to their Beneteau owners by asking each participating yacht to raise much needed funds for their chosen charity Humpty Dumpty. The yacht that raises the most funds before and during the event will be recognized at the Beneteau Cup Presentation dinner.

The racing continues that weekend with the national Beneteau network and the Middle Harbour Yacht club staging the inaugural Beneteau First 40 National Championship. The event is open to any owner of a First 40 in Australia, with the Beneteau factory supporting the event with prizes and the attendance of Beneteau First Range Director, Eric Ingouf, as Event Commodore.

'I’m extremely excited to see our owners and local Dealers joining together to enjoy everything that is owning a Beneteau, and what better way to do that than with the Beneteau Cup and now our first ever First 40 National Championship', said Beneteau Sales Manager Yves Mandin.
