From Monday 29 October, organisers of Yacht & Boat Korea will be opening exhibitor applications for next year’s event, 2 to 5 May 2013, in Gyeongnam Province, which is home to a number of recreational boat builders and some of the largest ship building companies in the world.

Prospective exhibitors can obtain information and forms online at www.yachtkorea.or.kr or for further information and details, contact Yacht & Boat Korea Secretariat info@yachtkorea.or.kr or Barry Jenkins sybarisx@bigpond.net.au

The 2013 event will build on six successful editions of the show which aims to offer a balance of consumer and B2B/trade.

Under the auspices of the Secretariat and strongly supported by the South Korean recreational and light commercial marine industry, Gyeongnam Provincial government and Changwon City government, Yacht & Boat Korea is pivotal to developing the region’s position as a hub of recreational boating.

The main venue is the magnificent Changwon Exhibition and Convention Center, with its state of the art facilities and 7,827m² of exhibition space.

Attendance at the 2012 show was recorded as 33,570 registered visitors at the Changwon Exhibition and Convention Center and 83,243 at Jinhaeroo, where the on-water section attracted around 10,000 visitors in total during the four-day event, 6,000 of whom immersed themselves in the hands-on fun as part of the 'Get on the Water' educational program.

Myung-Hyun Ryoo, Director of Strategic Industry of Gyeongnam Provincial Government says he is dedicated to creating an internationally significant event that delivers strong ROI for exhibitors.

In 2012, 147 exhibitors attended, 65 of them international. From preliminary reports, business to business meetings resulted in contracts valued at US$60,647,213 being negotiated.

To date contracts signed are valued at US$25,875,392, while many negotiations are continuing.

Sung-Young Lee President and CEO of Blue Marine, one of Korea’s largest marine importers and dealers, said they were looking forward to next year’s show following pleasing results generated at Yacht & Boat Korea 2012.

From Victoria, Australia, Chris Tucker Marine Design said he exhibited at Yacht & Boat Korea 2012 with the aim of expanding into new markets. 'With this goal in mind the show looks to have been very successful with new potential clients coming not only from visitors to the show but also other exhibitors, both Korean and International,' he said.

Next year, the B2B component may include networking opportunities, seminars and forums featuring internationally respected industry proponents.
