America's Cup- Oracle Team USA gets foiling on Day 4 + Video

Oracle Team USA has become the second AC team to get an AC72 up on foils.

The team met the benchmark of foiling on their fourth day of sailing, as did Emirates Team NZ, last month.

From the photos released, and others that can be viewed by http://tinyurl.com/9qyozz5!clicking_here, the USA-17 seemed to have issues maintaining stable flight, with plenty of rearing and crashing in evidence - typical of the early days of hydrofoil development. Emirates Team NZ enjoyed a much smoother flight at their first attempt.

However the one short foiling sequence shown in the video, shows a smooth period of flight.

In the ACWorldSeries images taken from astern of the AC72, there is a lot of platform twist in evidence. Whether this is by design or consequence is not known at this stage.
