Magnetic Island Race Week – Consistent campaign for Black Label

Black Label at Maggi from transom - Magnetic Island Race Week 2012 Ensign Ship Brokers http://www.ensignbrokers.com.au
Magnetic Island Race Week 2012, hosted by Townsville Yacht Club, was held from 30th August to 4th September.

Following two very intense weeks doing both Airlie Beach Race Week and Hamilton Island Race Weeks it was time to kick it back a gear and cruise on up to Magnetic Island for the Race Week everyone is talking about.

Magnetic Island has a great relaxed feel, a slice of heaven from the moment you dock. With a quick glance around you recognise the faces from the yachts you’ve already raced, and you wonder- who has the stamina to see this one through?

Held in the waters straight off the island, the races don’t start before 11am and the start is a quick motor away- perfect for a little bit of after racing mischief. This is the formula that has everyone heading back for more!

‘Black Label’ ran a consistent campaign, racing in overall second Place. As per Lee Randall’s usual style he managed to have a brand new yacht in great racing order, a crew to match and a sold sticker on the transom by the end of the regatta. A tradition that seems to have nice benefits for the yacht owner and her crew!

'Yes, I’m very lucky to have two from two, but I’m looking forward to many more! The Ensign Racing formula is such that we have a high quality race yacht with all the kit, a skilled team and a lot of fun after racing, hopefully all falling into place with the sale of the yacht at the end of the regatta- allowing the owner to upgrade to a faster program or look at more options.'

'The racing between the First 40’s in the past few weeks has been nothing less than exciting. With photo finishes and places being decided by seconds, it says a lot for the nature of our owners and the enthusiasm for like boat racing. All in all, I’m proud of the result and look forward to doing it all Ensign Magnetic Island Race Week website
