The two P1 SuperStock UK National powerboat racing titles were claimed in Weymouth over the weekend of the 15th-16th September when Dean Stoneman and his navigator Dean Paling (both from Southampton) won the blue riband P1 250 Class in their Pickfords-backed boat and the husband and wife team of Stuart and Sara Cureton secured the P1 150 Class title for the second consecutive year.
Stoneman and Paling finished a dominant season in style by winning all three races held in Weymouth Bay to bring their 2012 tally of wins to a record figure of seven. They enjoyed a massive 43-point advantage over nearest rivals Typhoo, driven by Miles Jennings (Exeter) and Andy Wilby (Fleet), who finished second.
Last year’s champion John Wilson (Coleshill, Birmingham) finished in joint third place in his Pertemps-sponsored craft alongside Edox Swiss Watches driven by Ian Brusby (Doncaster) and Will Nurse (Hayling Island). Just two points separated the second and joint third boats after eight races.

Father and daughter team Vince and Jade Berridge (Hemel Hempstead) had their most competitive weekend of the season and three second places in their boat Black Magic vaulted them into third place in the championship.
