Rolex Swan Cup – Caribbean has been created by Nautor's Swan together with historic partners Rolex and the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS). Taking place from 11th to 15th March 2013 at the YCCS Virgin Gorda, the Rolex Swan Cup - Caribbean will include four days of racing under IRC rules, as well as a range of social events.

The regatta is open to all Swan yachts built by the Finnish shipyard and is based on the concept of the highly successful Rolex Swan Cup, which has been held biennially in Porto Cervo since 1980. Many of the Swan owners currently taking part in the 17th edition of the Rolex Swan Cup in Porto Cervo (10th-16th September) have already expressed their interest in participating in the Caribbean event.

Nautor's Swan recently announced the launch of their 2000th Swan and the fleet, which ranges from classic Sparkman and Stephens designs to the current SwanLine featuring the new Swan 80S and Swan 105, is renowned for its combination of elegant lines, luxurious interiors, ease of handling and reliability. The YCCS regatta course in Virgin Gorda, where the islands and islets of the surrounding archipelago are used as natural buoys, provides a stunning backdrop for the racing. Add to the mix race headquarters at the exclusive new YCCS Marina and Clubhouse, and the inaugural edition of the regatta has all the ingredients for an outstanding launch.

Nautor's Swan Chairman, Leonardo Ferragamo: 'The Rolex Swan Cup has for many years proven to be an incredibly successful formula and we look forward to expanding our partnership with both Rolex and the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda in the BVI. Swan owners have a longstanding tradition of cruising and racing in the Caribbean and we look forward to welcoming new and old friends alike to Virgin Gorda in 2013.'

YCCS Commodore, Riccardo Bonadeo: 'The YCCS is delighted to be teaming up once again with our friends from Rolex and Nautor's Swan to bring the Swan Cup experience to the Caribbean. The formula has been providing a top-class regatta in Porto Cervo for 32 years and the new event fits perfectly into the racing calendar we are developing for our base in Virgin Gorda.'

Further details including the Notice of Race will be available shortly on the Event website.
