Australian sailing sport retail and services group NB Sailsports is already a major Laser, Optimist and Finn retailer, but their product range and depth and facilities are poised for massive expansion.

This week Rob McMillan of NB Sailsports and Julian Bethwaite of Bethwaite Design have concluded an agreement granting NB Sailsports an exclusive license covering manufacturing, distribution and retail of all 9er (29er, 49er, 49er FX ) and Tasar related products within Australia.

With this development NB Sailsports is now a unique business in Australia offering support from the Optimist class, right through to the Olympic level.

It supports its customers with shops based in Queensland, Somersby and soon a new retail outlet and workshop with a boat repairs facility in Sydney. As well as running coaching days NB service all major events in each of its supported classes, sending vans full of spares.

Rob McMillan said 'we are very excited about the outcome of this agreement; it provides us with the geographic reach we have been looking for, as well as, some of the best products in the sailing industry. We love the fact we can help junior sailors into the sport and then work with them as they progress along the pathway to higher levels'
