Volvo Penta - post Sydney Boat Show wrap

Nimlok Volvo Penta at Sydney International Boat Show Volvo Penta
At the recent Sydney International Boat Show, Volvo Penta unveiled a brand new light, bright and space-ous display which took out the Best Overall Display at the Show.

The pleasantly surprising accolade was received well by Volvo Penta’s Andrew Nicholson and Virginia Andrews who collaborated with Nimlok Australia to reveal the refreshed image for the brand.

Sydney 2012 was also the release for the new V8-380hp petrol engine which made a big impression in situ at the front of the display.

At the Sydney Boat Show, Volve Penta launched the new generation of a state-of-the-art V8 gasoline marine engine, loaded with new technology and performance – an engine that meets EPA’s new Tier 3 requirements by a broad margin.

The new generation of V8 engines from Volvo Penta is the result of several years of intense development work and means a real technological leap forward in the field of gasoline engines for marine use.

The new powerful V8 380 hp engine package is compact and light: it weighs around 100 kilos less than any other engine in the same class on the market, resulting in a very competitive weight/effect ratio. At the same time, the new engine is heavy-duty, fuel- and oil-efficient and, thanks to the new catalytic converter, emission levels have been substantially lowered.

Sydney International Boat Show wrapped up Monday 6 August and as the highest attended boat show in the country of boating enthusiasts with patron numbers just shy of 64,000 this year the air was certainly very positive across exhibitors and those visiting the show.

New boat sales were reported by local business partners, luxury vessel manufacturers Maritimo and Riviera, with strong leads also received by a number of other marine leisure boat builders and Volvo Penta global partners.
