Round Britain powerboat record smashed

by IBI on 20 Jun 2003 Neil McGrigor, Tony Jenvey and Simon Rogers have broken both the under 30ft and the under 50ft Round Britain Powerboat Records.

The team, from Lymington, had only recently completed sea trials and testing B&G's h1000 pilot and electronic instrument system when the right weather window for the attempt occurred.

Using a specially adapted Revenger rib they were able to knock just under 10 hours off the original 30 foot record.

The team average speeds of around 50 knots.
