Super Rope Cinch- a hundred applications on a boat

by Sail-World Cruising on 1 Aug 2012

When clever individuals invent a new product, that's when the hard work starts. Tim and Dorothy Bourke invented one of the cleverest things you might ever see on a boat, with a hundred applications - the Super Rope Cinch - but that was back in 2009 and they've only just now received a patent.

The Super Rope Cinch is a small hand-held device that eliminates the need to tie and untie knots when securing items with rope and the number of uses on a boat is only limited by your imagination! All you need to do is simply insert the rope and turn the top. To release, push the lock and turn the top. The Super Rope Cinch is more adjustable, safer, and secure than a bungee cord.

Tim Bourke had this to say about receiving the patent and the challenge of gaining retail distribution: 'The patent took almost three years to complete. The challenge of getting placement in retail stores has taken every bit as long.

'Introducing a brand-new product into retail and getting hard distribution is a very slow, arduous process. I can see why so many inventors simply give up after a short period of time. Inventing, marketing and distributing a brand-new product into retail is not for the weak.'

The Super Rope Cinch is manufactured in the U.S.A. by Just Right Products LLC and is quickly becoming the universally accepted way to secure and un-secure rope instead of tying and untying knots thanks to its very basic design and simplistic ease of use.

Using the device, most anyone can secure and unsecure rope from 1/8' to 5/8' in diameter using only a simple twist. For many, tying and untying knots is challenge. With the Super Rope Cinch, there's no need to ever tie or untie a knot again. Think about it - maybe you'll find uses at home as well...

The good news is that the Super Rope Cinch is currently available at HomeDepot.com, Sears.com, and over 12,000 hardware centers and retail outlets in the USA and Canada. However, the bad news is that it's not available elsewhere at the time of writing, so the Bourkes have more work to do:

They are currently seeking investors and manufacturing companies to license, purchase patent rights or enter into a royalty agreement for this timely invention.
