This month, leading modern classic yacht designer and builder Spirit Yachts announced it has launched its eye-catching new motor yacht, the P50 Sport and P50 Coupé.

Created to meet demand for a luxury guest motor yacht experience combined with the timeless elegance of Spirit's renowned modern classic yachts, the P50 Sport was officially launched in London on 2nd and 3rd October.

Australian & New Zealand Managing Director, Kevin Wallis said, "The P50 Sport has already been turning heads during the summer sea trials. Early signs show strong demand for her distinctive blend of modern classic styling with world class craftsmanship and on-the-water performance."

Wallis continued, "The motor yacht market offers an overwhelming number of ~50ft production boats, but the P50 stands head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to luxury, handling, timeless design, and exquisite attention to detail."

Created to allow guests to escape the daily grind and truly escape, the P50 centres around a spacious open plan bar and galley, with bar stool seating and a handcrafted, Sipo Mahogany dining table with U-shaped sofa. The large swim platform houses a hydraulic passarelle and swim stairs for easy access from the dock or the water, as well as plentiful water sports toy storage. Deep bulwarks provide a sense of security as the decks lead forward to the bow, which offers two large loungers on the foredeck; perfect for evening sundowners.

The helm position is carefully considered to ensure good visibility, straightforward navigation, and easy handling with both throttle and joy stick controls for the twin Volvo Penta D6 IPS600 (440hp) drives, supported by a Seakeeper, and a custom anchor system by Lewmar. With a maximum speed of 34 knots, and a cruising speed of 25 knots, the Spirit P50 is designed for memorable days on the water with family and friends.

Down below, the blend of timbers with fabrics and bespoke artwork creates an elegant space for relaxing and onboard stays. The double cabin is complemented by an ensuite heads with a stunning circular shower, handcrafted in wood by Spirit's in-house team. An open plan sofa and fully equipped galley complete the interior, which offers the option for custom styling for each owner.

Spirit Yachts Lead Designer Thomas Smith commented, "The P50 design began with "why"? From the start, we focused on the end user and the purpose of the yacht, which we defined as uncompromised joy. The entire layout of the P50 is focused on the guest experience, from the swim platform and watersports toys to the social cockpit with comfortable U-shaped seating, and the theatre of cocktails at the outdoor bar."

Thomas added, "The design DNA of the Spirit P50 Sport and her sistership, the P50 Coupé, is a striking blend of elegant, traditional lines and bold, sophisticated graphics. Throughout the design process there was a desire to create something new whilst holding on to Spirit Yachts' heritage and values."

From humble beginnings in the Suffolk countryside, Spirit Yachts now operates from a large waterside facility in Ipswich with a highly skilled team of designers, naval architects, boat builders, cabinet makers, electricians, and engineers.

Built using the highest quality, sustainable timber and incorporating the latest technology, Spirit yachts are designed and commissioned to suit an owner's individual criteria. Every Spirit is unique.

Passionate about sustainability, Spirit Yachts has won international awards for its commitment to lowering the carbon footprint of the company and its yachts during construction, operation and at end of life.

Unlike many yacht builders, Spirit Yachts conducts the design and build process in-house at its waterside headquarters in Suffolk.
