M32 World Championship 2026 in Newport - Day 2

by M32 World 1 Oct 16:42 PDT September 28 - October 3, 2026

Scoreboard Shuffler: Tuuci Holds Lead as Rated X Closes In

Rated X wins the day, Dingbat takes two bullets and ChinaOne.Ningbo comes alive as the championship reaches its halfway point in Newport

Day Two shook up the M32 World Championship leaderboard, and Tuuci still holds the top spot. Ten M32s headed up Narragansett Bay toward Prudence Island for five more races Thursday. The day began in very light air before the breeze arrived for four heavy-air races, giving the fleet two very different sets of conditions to solve - as well as serious shifts as the breeze wrapped around Jamestown Island.

Charlie Julien's Rated X solved the puzzle better than anyone. Rated X posted a 1-2-1-3-7 scoreline for 14 points, the best performance of the day, moving from fourth overall to second and pulling within a single point of Tuuci.

Tuuci did not win a race Thursday, but another consistent day was enough to preserve the World Championship lead. With 10 races complete, Thompson and crew sit on 36 points, Rated X has 37 and Miles Julien's YoungBlood has moved into third on 44.

M32 World Championship after Day 2: (top three, 10 races)

  1. Tuuci, Cy Thompson | 36 points
  2. Rated X, Charlie Julien | 37
  3. YoungBlood, Miles Julien | 44

As usual in this fleet, the race wins were spread around. Bobby Julien's Dingbat took two bullets, winning Races 2 and 5. Rated X won Races 1 and 3, while Paul Campbell-James and ChinaOne.Ningbo won Race 4 before finishing the day with a 1-2. That closing charge moved ChinaOne.Ningbo from seventh overall after Day One to fourth, tied on 48 points with Pursuit. There's a lot of movement in this fleet.

YoungBlood quietly put together another steady scoreline. Four third-place finishes around an eighth gave the team 20 points for the day and moved the reigning North American Champion onto the Worlds podium.

Across the first 10 races of the championship, half of the teams have won races.

And after two days, there is still no clear answer at the top. Tuuci has one point on Rated X. YoungBlood is eight points from the lead. ChinaOne.Ningbo and Pursuit are tied behind them. Nine races remain.

Halfway through Worlds, and everything is still in play.
