J/24 European Championship 2026 at Gislövs läge, Trelleborg, Sweden

by Ola Tedin 3 Sep 02:21 PDT 18-23 August 2026

Italy's naval team, La Superba, won the J/24 Europeans in Sweden through ITA 416, skippered by Ignazio Bonanno.

Twenty boats and crew met up in charming Gislöv on the Swedish south coast to sail 10 races that would decide the European champions of 2026. Participating nations were Italy, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands and Sweden.

After the preparatory days of measuring and calibrating for the regatta, competitions started racing Thursday August 20. Due to light airs, only one race could be completed.

Friday came with better conditions, and four races could be completed.

The third day of races were held in gusty conditions with light rain that tested the crews mettle during the three scheduled races.

Day four of the championship concluded the 2026 Europeans with two races, thus completing all of the planned ten.
