The Formula Kite class will be showcased in Kingston, August 7-9, during the Sail Canada 2026 Formula Kite Senior Championships.

Sail Canada 2026 Formula Kite Senior Championships will be hosted by CORK/Sail Kingston as part of the Olympic Classes regatta.

Qualifier for the 2026 Youth Sailing World Championships

Sail Canada 2026 Formula Kite Senior Championships is also the qualifier for Canadian sailors for the 2026 Youth Sailing World Championships to be held December 11-19 in Vilamoura, Portugal. The best ranked male and female athletes following this event, above the age of 12 years and under 19 years on December 31, 2026, will qualify to be nominated to represent Canada at the 2026 Youth Sailing World Championships.

Competitions are scheduled to start at 11am during the three days.

Kiteboards will be launched from and returned to Elevator Bay or Breakwater Park depending on the wind direction.

Sail Canada 2026 Formula Kite Senior Championships event is part of a series of eight Sail Canada National and Regional Championships to be held this summer. These competitions provide an opportunity for sailors to train and compete with high-level sailors in their region, in addition to serving as talent identification opportunities for regional and provincial sailing teams, as development and mentoring opportunities for coaches, as well as training and development opportunities for officials and volunteers.
