The Princess Royal, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, carried out engagements on the Isle of Wight on Saturday 1 August to mark the bicentenary of Cowes Week.
Her Royal Highness visited The Royal Yacht Britannia Trust's Sailing Through Royal History exhibition at 74 High Street, Cowes.
During her visit, The Princess Royal was welcomed by members of The Royal Yacht Britannia Trust team, whose dedication and expertise were instrumental in bringing the pop-up exhibition to life in Cowes. Her Royal Highness also toured the exhibition displays, which feature evocative family photographs, historic artefacts and archival material celebrating Britannia's enduring connection with Cowes, while highlighting her own personal links to the stories and maritime heritage showcased throughout the exhibition.
For the first time in nearly 30 years, The Royal Yacht Britannia returns to Cowes, Isle of Wight, through Sailing Through Royal History, a touring exhibition presented by The Royal Yacht Britannia Trust. The exhibition celebrates Britannia's enduring connection with Cowes and its community, as well as the close Royal links to the legendary local yacht designer and builder Uffa Fox.
