What a performance! In his very first competition in Tenerife, Dennis takes the title. It's incredible to watch his progression: super radical surfing, huge and stylish back loops, solid forwards, and confidence far beyond his years! This is only the beginning. A very bright future lies ahead. Congratulations, Dennis!
Junior Boys Under 18 completed the first round, with Spain's Yannik Kolb Gonzalez and Javi Escribano Toribio, Japan's Ryoma Sugi, and Germany's Peter Gobisch all advancing to the Semis! Next up it was the first or three Junior Girls finals, where the powerhouse Belgium's Sol Derrick claimed the U21, and Japan's Natsuki Wakasa took the win in U18.
Then it was time for the Open Challenger rounds, where every heat was do or die, to get a place in the Pro Main Event. On the men's side, Noah Vocker made an impressive return to competition, posting the highest score across all Challenger heats. Josep Pons followed with the highest heat score of the final Challenger round. Together with Samuele Ferraro and U18 World Champ Javier Escribano Toribio, these are the 4 riders who secured their place in the Pro Men Main Event. In the women's division, Bobbi-Lynn De Jong impressed with her surfing and forwards, and earned a spot in the Pro Women Main Event in her very first Pro Women event. Joining her are Milanka Linde, Natsuki Wakasa, and Trine Gobisch, who also fought their way through 2 Challenger Rounds.
The forecast is looking great for tomorrow and the rest of the week, so stay tuned... there's plenty more action to come!
