XOD Captain's Cup at North Sails Cowes Week 2026 - Day 3

A stronger breeze from the east and a good flood tide the X boat fleet got away first time from the Royal Yacht Squadron line on a beat to Collete. Sadly there were some OCS boats and whilst not OCS herself Astralita got tangled up in their dirty air, early leaders were Gone Away, Lone Star, Mayfly from the middle of the start line.
Once again Itchenor's youth bursary team in Beaver had a great start.
By the windward mark it was Gone Away ahead of Lara, Lone Star, Swallow and Myrtle. The choice was then to go inshore for positive tide but less wind or slightly off shore sailing less distance. After a windward leeward course finishing at the RYS line Lone Star managed to take a solid win ahead of Mayfly and Gone Away.
Overall Lone Star will be flying the yellow North Sails regatta leaders kite, Astralita managed to get back to 6th today and are just three points behind with Annex in third.
Not much further back Beaver were first youth bursary entry in 13th place.
