The International RS Aero Class Association has unveiled the next three host venues and dates for the RS Aero World Championships, giving sailors around the globe the opportunity to plan their campaigns well in advance.
The announcement was made at Travemünder Woche, where 198 sailors gathered for the RS Aero European & Youth World Championships (just shy of the international RS Aero event record of 207 competitors) and joining 916 RS sailors as part of the RS Games 2026.
RS Aero Class Manager Sammy Isaacs Johnson was joined by representatives from each host nation to reveal the exciting line-up of World Championship destinations for 2027, 2028 and 2029.
"It's incredibly important for us as a class to announce our championship calendar as far in advance as possible," says Sammy. "The RS Aero community spans the globe and we're fortunate to experience the hospitality of so many fantastic sailing nations.
"When you join the RS Aero Class, you don't just sign up for great racing - you become part of a worldwide community. Campaigning an RS Aero is as much about the adventure as it is the competition, so we want to give sailors plenty of time to plan. Our goal is to deliver exceptional racing in outstanding venues and make every championship an unforgettable experience."
2027 RS Aero World Championship
Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
16 - 22 January 2027
The journey begins on the spectacular waters of Port Phillip. Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron will welcome the RS Aero fleet with outstanding race management, renowned Australian hospitality and fantastic sailing conditions. This follows the Salty Dingo 2026 RS Aero Australian Nationals which was a resounding success at the same venue. With Melbourne's world-famous sporting culture and the stunning Mornington Peninsula on the doorstep, it's the perfect destination to combine a World Championship with the trip of a lifetime.

2028 RS Aero World Championship
Circolo Vela Arco, Lago di Garda, Torbole, Italy
26 August - 1 September 2028
Next, the class heads to one of sailing's true bucket-list venues. Nestled beneath dramatic mountains, Lago di Garda is famous for its dependable Ora breeze, crystal-clear water and breathtaking scenery. Combine that with incredible Italian cuisine, vibrant lakeside towns and world-class race management at Circolo Vela Arco, and it's easy to understand why sailors return year after year.

2029 RS Aero World Championship
Dalgety Bay Sailing Club, Firth of Forth, Scotland, United Kingdom
25-31 August 2029
The third destination takes the fleet to Scotland, where Dalgety Bay Sailing Club will host championship racing on the iconic Firth of Forth. Sailors can look forward to spectacular racing beneath the famous Forth Bridges, a legendary Scottish welcome and the unique camaraderie that defines every RS Aero World Championship. Edinburgh's rich history, culture and vibrant attractions are all within easy reach.
