4–8 November 2026
From 4–8 November 2026, Port Nàutic Ibiza, hosted by Club Mare Nostrum, will welcome riders from around the world for the inaugural X-15 World Championships—where the first official X-15 World Champions will be crowned.
As the world’s pioneering one-design wingfoil class recognised by World Sailing, the X-15 has been created to make high-performance racing more accessible while showcasing the very best athletes on equal equipment. Competitors will have the opportunity to earn one of the sport’s highest honours: an official World Championship title recognised by World Sailing.
Registration takes place on 4 November, with racing beginning that afternoon and continuing through 8 November.
Five official World Championship titles will be awarded:
- X-15 Senior Male
- X-15 Senior Female
- X-15 Youth Male (Under 19)
- X-15 Youth Female (Under 19)
- X-15 Junior (Under 15)
Masters and additional divisions will also be recognised with championship awards.
Competitors may either bring their own X-15 equipment in accordance with the X-15 Class Rules or charter complete race equipment for the event, making it easy for riders from around the world to take part. Full charter details are available through the event registration.
The partnership between Club Mare Nostrum and the X-15 Class reflects a shared vision for the future of watersports, where innovation and environmental responsibility go hand in hand. Through Starboard’s Plastic Impact Program, every X-15 board produced removes 6 kg of beach and ocean-bound plastic waste from vulnerable shorelines and supports the planting of three mangrove trees, helping restore coastal ecosystems while protecting the waters we race on.
As part of the X-15 Class’s commitment to continuous improvement, all competitors will complete a travel carbon footprint tracker, recording how they travelled to and from the event. Across all X-15 events, mangrove trees are then planted based on athlete travel, helping restore coastal ecosystems while encouraging greater awareness of the environmental impact of event participation. Together with Club Mare Nostrum’s commitment to sustainable event hosting, the inaugural X-15 World Championships demonstrate how high-performance sport and measurable environmental action can go hand in hand.
Before competing, all participants must hold a valid X-15 Class Membership. Competitors are encouraged to regularly visit the X-15 Class Event Page on the X-15 website, where all official notices, event documents and updates will be published throughout the championship. Riders are also encouraged to join the official X-15 Telegram group to receive the latest event announcements and stay connected with fellow competitors.
Entries are now open, on a first come first serve basis and riders from around the world are invited to compete for the opportunity to become an official X-15 World Champion.
