Eight Bells - Nick Wyatt, former GM of Phuket Yacht Haven

by Asia Pacific Superyachts 17 Jul 22:07 PDT

It is with great sadness that we record the passing of Nick Wyatt, GM of Phuket Yacht Haven 2002 - 2016.

Nick was an outstanding marina manager, and instrumental in helping to establish Phuket as an internationally recognised superyacht destination during the early growth of the industry. He played a pivotal role in making the Yacht Haven the premier superyacht marina in Thailand and one of the most respected facilities in Southeast Asia.

To captains, owners, crew, agents, and everyone involved in the marine industry, Nick was a reassuring presence. Whether arranging berths, provisioning, fuelling, logistics, or simply offering practical advice and a warm welcome, he approached every challenge with calm competence, integrity, and good humour. His knowledge of the industry was second to none, and he will be remembered fondly for his generosity, kindness, and genuine friendship.

On behalf of the mariners, yacht owners, captains, crew, brokers, marine businesses, and the wider yachting community of Phuket, we extend our deepest condolences to his partner Zara - an indispensable part of the Yacht Haven team - and to all of Nick’s family and loved ones.

Nick Wyatt leaves behind a legacy of expertise and friendship that marks him out as one of the true gents of Phuket’s yachting fraternity. Fair winds and following seas, Nick. Your berth is secure, your watch is done, and your wake will be felt for many years to come.
