A second remarkable day of racing at The Superyacht Cup Palma Richard Mille saw the competition increase with the completion of a second race in superb sailing conditions, while the shoreside social atmosphere also went up a notch.
The 30th Anniversary Race Day saw some yachts double down on a successful opening race, while others stepped up a gear to claim their own success.
In the Superyacht Class B Atalante 1 made the most of fresher conditions on the Bay of Palma to claim victory ahead of yesterday's winner the 39m Tripp design Cervo and the 37.4m Oyster Archelon. The majestic Perini Navi ketch Burrasca completed the class.
Dylan Warwick, skipper of the 27m Hoek Design Atalante 1 said: "There was more breeze than yesterday in the first half of the race, and a lot more reaching which let us hang in there with the big boats and get a good result.
"We were just trying to get round the track cleanly with no mistakes - and you know when we got to the finish we thought we had done OK, but to actually win the class was a cherry on the top."
And he added: "It is also fantastic having all the boats gathered here. Half the reason the owners do these regattas is for the social aspect, we just need a few more Hoek designs here!"
In Superyacht Class A Win Win repeated her first day victory, possibly creating the foundations for a third overall Superyacht Cup Palma win, finishing ahead of the Swan 88 Spiip, Swan 100 Point Counter Point and the 30.9m Wally Inco.
It was a similar tale in the YYachts Class, with the 23.80m Judel/Vrolijk Beati taking a second win in the six strong fleet ahead of the 23.80m Distancia.
The biggest improvement in the class came from the 25.99m Calabash, moving up from fifth on the first day to third, possibly not unconnected to the presence onboard of YYachts owner Michael Schmidt.
He said: "It was a great day for sailing here. I also really like the shore location with all the boats and owners together - the most important thing to have at an event for them is a good party."
Meanwhile, a repeat victory in the second ever multihull race at The Superyacht Cup Palma Richard Mille went to the 24.65m VPLP Highland Fling, this time ahead of Allegra and Layla, with the 19.8m Morelli & Melvin designed Gaea fourth.
The J Class yachts Svea and Rainbow continued their one-on-one match racing, very much in the DNA of the class, with the former adding to her opening day pair of wins with a third victory. However, Svea was unable to compete in today's opening race due to a technical problem. A smiling Peter Harrison, Rainbow's owner, collected the trophy at the evening Prize Giving at the Club de Mar - Mallorca.
The Superyacht Cup Palma Richard Mille concludes on Saturday with the St. Regis Mardavall Mallorca Race Day which is scheduled to be a coastal race for all classes.
