The Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC) is pleased to announce that Paul Arkwright has been appointed as General Manager of the RORC and will join the Club on Monday 8th June 2026.

Paul joins RORC with extensive experience in yacht club management, membership organisations, hospitality and events. Most recently, he served as General Manager of Hebe Haven Yacht Club in Hong Kong, one of Asia's leading yacht clubs, where he was responsible for the overall management of the Club, its facilities, members services, events programme and strategic development.

Prior to this, Paul held senior leadership roles across the marine, publishing and events sectors, bringing a broad range of commercial and operational experience. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with members, volunteers, committees and staff teams, supporting the long-term development of the organisations he has served.

RORC Commodore Deb Fish said: "We are delighted to welcome Paul Arkwright as our General Manager. Paul's leadership experience, member-focused approach and understanding of the sailing club environment make him very well placed to support the Club as we continue to develop for our members and the wider RORC community."

Paul will work closely with the Club's Flag Officers, Committee members, staff and volunteers across both the London and Cowes clubhouses.

Commenting on his appointment, Paul Arkwright said: "I am delighted to be joining the Royal Ocean Racing Club, an organisation with an outstanding reputation and a remarkable history within our sport. I look forward to meeting members, volunteers and staff, and to supporting the Club as it continues to build on its many successes."

The appointment follows the recent arrival of Ben Willows as RORC's first Sporting Director. Together, the roles form part of an enhanced senior leadership structure, with the Sporting Director focused on racing, rating, partnerships and participation, and the General Manager leading membership, clubhouse operations, shoreside activities and the day-to-day running of the Clubhouses.
