Erica Lush aboard Hope forced to retire from La Solitaire du Figaro Paprec Leg 3

by La Solitaire du Figaro Paprec 1 Jun 23:37 PDT 13 May - 7 June 2026

While sailing in 36th position off the coast of Île de Ré, American skipper Erica Lush notified Race Direction of her retirement at 6:49 a.m. this Tuesday morning, following the tearing of her mainsail earlier in the morning, at around 5:30 a.m., as a weather front passed through.

She tried to repair the damage, but could not find a solution that would allow her to continue the race with her damaged mainsail.

The skipper is doing well and should be able to return to port on her own.

More information to come.
