Ray Roberts’ Team Hollywood continued to do what it does best – win. After capturing both races today, making it six out of seven in the regatta so far, they have now clinched their second straight Samui Regatta.
Meanwhile, former Sydney-to-Hobart winner Alive took line honours in both races again, making a full set for all races. However, on corrected time, they finished third in the first race—a two-lap windward-leeward affair—and second place in the coastal race, which was a trip past Koh Kong OK (Group) and the Haad Rin inflatable buoy before finishing.
Terry Foster’s Iolanthe 3 enjoyed a successful day, finishing second in the first race and third in the second. These results move them into third overall heading into the final day.
The Aftershock Syndicate's Aftershock finished a close fourth, losing out to Alive by just 1 second on corrected time in the first race. Unfortunately, damage to their mainsail prevented them from completing the second race.
As they head into the final day of the 23rd Samui Regatta, after seven races with one drop, Team Hollywood leads with 6 points, ahead of Alive with 12, Iolanthe 3 on 19, and Aftershock with 20.
Looking ahead to Saturday, the race committee plans to return to the southern course area. Aftershock will compete with their replacement delivery main, setting up a winner-takes-all shoot-out with Iolanthe 3 to claim third overall.
Following the completion of racing, sailors gathered at the Nora Beach Resort, where daily prizes were presented by a representative of the Haad Thip beverage company. The regatta’s closing party will be held at The Fair House Beach Resort & Hotel.
This is the 23rd edition of the Samui Regatta, which was sailed from 24-30 May 2026. All keelboats race in the same IRC Open class, which adds to the event's prestige on the regional calendar. The Nora Beach Resort and Spa serves as the event’s base, providing an ideal backdrop for both participants and spectators.
