The American Magic-owned ROCKWOOL Racing Denmark SailGP Team has appointed Dan Ritchie as Chief Commercial Officer, strengthening the team's commercial leadership as SailGP continues its rapid international growth.
Ritchie joins ROCKWOOL Racing with more than a decade of experience across Formula 1 and the English Premier League, having held senior commercial, partnerships and marketing roles at BWT Alpine F1 Team, Oracle Red Bull Racing, Racing Point / Aston Martin and Nottingham Forest.
Across his career, he has helped develop commercial programs worth more than $400 million in lifetime value, working with brands across fintech, technology, luxury, fashion, consumer goods and global sport.
At ROCKWOOL Racing, Ritchie will lead the team's commercial strategy and execution, overseeing partnership development, brand relations, and revenue growth as the team continues to establish itself as one of the most distinctive platforms in SailGP.
Ritchie said: "ROCKWOOL Racing has all the ingredients of a truly modern global sports property: a clear identity, ambitious leadership, strong values, and a genuinely differentiated position within world sport.
"SailGP is growing quickly, but the commercial opportunity extends far beyond visibility alone. The real value comes from building partnerships that create measurable business impact, unlock meaningful storytelling opportunities, and connect with global audiences in authentic ways.
"My focus is to help build out a commercial platform that fully reflects the ambition and capability of this team: performance-driven, partner-focused, and built to scale."
ROCKWOOL Racing was acquired earlier this year by leading high-performance sailing platform American Magic. ROCKWOOL Group, the team's founding title partner, recently extended its commitment through to 2032, marking the longest-standing title partnership in SailGP history.
Ritchie's appointment reflects ROCKWOOL Racing's wider ambition to build not only a competitive SailGP team on the water, but a modern sports and entertainment platform with long-term commercial relevance off it.
"Dan has excelled in some of the highest-performing commercial environments in world sport, and that experience will be incredibly valuable for ROCKWOOL Racing as we continue to scale," said Mike Cazer, CEO of ROCKWOOL Racing.
"We want to build a team that is competitive in every area: performance, partnerships, brand and commercial execution. With ROCKWOOL onboard as title partner, the team has a strong commercial foundation and an opportunity to think boldly about growth. Dan's appointment reflects the level of ambition we have for the future of this organization."
