Proven by Olympic and World Champions, Zhik's most comprehensive dinghy hiking range is built to help sailors hike harder for longer.

Zhik, the global high performance water sports brand trusted by Olympic and World Champions, continues to set the benchmark in dinghy hiking with a complete product system engineered around connection, support and sustained power.

Built through more than two decades of close collaboration with elite sailors, Zhik's dinghy hiking range brings together footwear, hiking straps, carbon support, Powerpads® and dedicated men's and women's hiker suits to help sailors stay connected to the boat, manage load and maintain stronger hiking positions for longer.

From Olympic campaigns to World Championship fleets, Zhik hiking gear has been trusted by some of the sport's most accomplished dinghy sailors, including Matt Wearn, Marit Bouwmeester, Anne-Marie Rindom, Tom Burton, Philipp Buhl, Jean-Baptiste Bernaz and Mária Érdi, along with many more athletes supported through Zhik's partnerships with national sailing teams.

Across this group alone, the results represent an exceptional record at the highest level of dinghy sailing, including nine Olympic medals, six Olympic gold medals and 14 ILCA / Laser World Championship titles.

That tally includes back-to-back Olympic gold and back-to-back ILCA 7 world titles for Matt Wearn, four Olympic medals and four world titles for Marit Bouwmeester, Olympic gold and four world titles for Anne-Marie Rindom, Olympic gold and a world title for Tom Burton, plus world titles for Philipp Buhl, Jean-Baptiste Bernaz and Mária Érdi.

Together, these results show the depth of Zhik's connection to the athletes and campaigns that have shaped modern dinghy sailing, from Olympic medal races to the front of international championship fleets.

Zhik has helped shape the modern approach to dinghy hiking through athlete-led innovation and product development. The long-running ZhikGrip™ II Hiking Boot has been used by athletes for many years at the highest level of the sport, setting a new standard for boot-to-strap connection and control under load.

"The progression over the last 15 years with Zhik has been incredible. The integration of the ZhikGrip strap and boot was probably the biggest step in innovation for sailing the Laser, and it gave us the ability to hike harder for longer. It avoided injuries from trying to grip onto the strap as much with our feet," saing Matt Wearn, multiple Olympic Gold Medalist and World Champion. "For me specifically, having a tighter hiking strap and being really locked into the boat is something I really like, so being able to help develop that system with Zhik was pretty special."

That legacy now continues with the latest design iteration: the Hiking X Boot. Launched this year, the Hiking X Boot carries the same focus on grip, connection and control into a lighter, more responsive platform engineered for high-performance hiking. The boot features ZhikGrip™ II interlocking hiking system technology, a Michelin Fibrelite outsole and advanced 3D knitted construction, weighing only 470g per boot.

Zhik's leadership in the category has been built around a systems-based design philosophy. Rather than developing products in isolation, the brand engineers its hiking range around the way sailors actually move, load the boat and sustain pressure through a race.

"We are super proud to be Zhik athletes and to be involved in those back-and-forth conversations with the designers at Zhik. To have people willing to listen to what we have to say and what could improve the equipment is pretty special. It's quite a humbling thing to be a part of such an impressive brand," added Matt Wearn.

The system includes ZhikGrip™ II Hiking Straps, which pair with compatible Zhik footwear to help create a stronger boot-to-strap connection; Carbon X Insoles, developed with Carbitex® Monoflex technology to support the foot under high hiking loads; Powerpads®, refined through years of athlete feedback; and Superwarm® and Microfleece™ Hiker Suits for integrated body support.

"Dinghy hiking creates a very specific load path through the body, the boot, the strap and the boat," said Drue Kerr, Head of Design and Production "The Zhik design process starts by looking at where sailors experience pressure, fatigue and loss of connection, then engineering each product around that reality. The latest hiking system brings together grip, carbon support, outsole durability, pad placement and fit, so the sailor feels supported through the full movement, not just at one point of contact."

The range also reinforces Zhik's commitment to fit-specific performance gear. Alongside men's hikers, Zhik offers women's Microfleece™ and Superwarm® Hikers with a tailored shape and cut designed specifically for female sailors, strengthening what Zhik believes is the most comprehensive dinghy hiking range in the category.

"A complete hiking system has to support the sailor from more than one direction," added Kerr. "The boot and strap connection is critical, but so is the way the body is supported through the hiker, the way load is managed underfoot and the way the system allows sailors to hike harder for longer. That is where the full Zhik range comes together."
