iQFOiL Youth & Junior International Games at Torbole, Lake Garda - Overall

by iQFOiL Class Association 9 May 11:20 PDT 4-9 May 2026

The iQFOiL International Games Youth & Junior in Torbole concluded on Saturday on Lake Garda Trentino with the Medal Series, following two final days that delivered wind, racing and spectacular action.

After an opening part of the week affected by unstable weather and a lack of wind, Lake Garda made a strong comeback over the last two days. On Friday, racing resumed at full intensity, first with northerly winds and then with the Ora breeze building into the evening. On Saturday, the final day, the southerly wind filled in early in the morning and remained steady at around 11-13 knots, allowing for a fast-paced sequence of starts.

On the water were the top eight sailors in each category, competing in the Medal Series format — a system that keeps the podium battle open until the very end, with Quarter Finals, Semi Finals and Finals capable of reshuffling the standings established during the Qualifying Series.

In the Under 19 Men's fleet, the only category requiring two Finals, victory went to the Netherlands' Finn Brüll. After finishing third in the first Final, Brüll won the second with an excellent start, securing the second point needed for overall victory. Poland's Gustaw Trybek finished second, while France's Titouan Dizet took third.

In the Under 19 Women's fleet, Israel's Alba Klein confirmed her position at the top, followed by France's Salomé Simon in second. Italy's Vittoria Marconi (Lega Navale Italiana Civitavecchia) delivered an outstanding comeback, starting from the Quarter Finals and progressing through the Semi Finals to reach the Final, where she secured a well-deserved bronze medal.

The Under 17 Men's title was claimed by Germany's Moritz Schleicher, who secured victory directly in the first Final after a strong duel with Czech sailor Frantisek Burda, who finished second. France's Mahé Givernaud completed the podium in third.

The Under 17 Girls' fleet also delivered a highly competitive final, with Italian sailors Elisa Bruno and Elettra Fulgenzi producing strong performances from the Quarter Finals through to the Final. Victory went to Poland's Marta Gajdzinska, ahead of the Netherlands' Anna Jannieke Korevaar in second. Elisa Bruno (SEF Stamura, Ancona) secured third place.

Prizes were also awarded in the Under 15 category, where Italy achieved a clean sweep in both the boys' and girls' divisions. In the girls' ranking, Marta Clemente (Circolo Velico Sferracavallo) claimed victory ahead of Greta Alesi (Circolo Velico Sferracavallo) and Hungary's Leila Kortvelyesi. In the boys' fleet, Marco Cicerone (Circolo Velico Sferracavallo) finished first, followed by Andrea Mottin (Circolo Surf Torbole) and Estonia's Leonid Turovski.

There was great satisfaction from Circolo Surf Torbole, the International iQFOiL Youth & Junior Class, and the FIV Race Committee, who worked together to deliver the maximum possible number of races for the young athletes despite a challenging weather week. Torbole and Lake Garda Trentino once again confirm their status as an international reference point for youth windsurfing, chosen by athletes not only for racing but also for training and technical development on one of the world's most renowned racecourses.
