Sunsail has launched this year's Funding the Future Initiative, now in its third year of supporting grassroots sailing clubs. Previous winners include West Lancashire Yacht Club (2024) and Otley Sailing Club (2025), with runners-up such as Rudyard, Wilsonian, and Henley Sailing Club also benefiting from the programme.
Whether it's upgrading boats to enable new initiatives, improving junior facilities, or supporting the volunteers who keep clubs running, the initiative can make a meaningful difference to sailing communities.

Don't miss your chance to take part this year's Funding the Future initiative. It's a fantastic chance for your sailing club to enhance its facilities and support its sailors, with a top prize of £6,000 for the overall winner and £2,000 each for two deserving runners-up.
Women on the Water
This year, Sunsail are encouraging applications that support getting more women and girls out on the water. When applying, outline any relevant initiatives you have in place, along with how funding could help expand participation and access. This sits alongside their existing criteria, which continue to focus on strengthening and growing participation overall.
To enter you will need to submit an application answering a series of questions on the Sunsail website, www.sunsail.com/uk/funding-the-future
Submissions will be reviewed by an esteemed panel of judges including Mark Jardine, Managing Editor of YachtsandYachting.com and Sail-World.com.
Winners will be announced at the Southampton International Boat Show 2026. So, time to show your club's creativity and vision for the future of sailing!
