SailGP, the most exciting racing on water, today announced the sale of the Los Gallos SailGP Team (Spain) to the Quantum Pacific Group ("Quantum Pacific"), marking a landmark moment for both the championship and Spanish sport. The transaction represents the largest-ever investment in a sailing team in Spain and underscores SailGP's continued growth as a global, premium sports property.

As a long-term investor in sports, Quantum Pacific believes that SailGP is one of the most attractive investments in the sector, with a rapidly growing audience around the world. The acquisition of Los Gallos complements the group's wider sports portfolio, which has an Iberian focus, and is further evidence of Quantum Pacific's belief in the region overall.

Los Gallos enter this new chapter as one of the league's most dominant forces, having secured the Season 4 Championship and consistently performing at the highest level of the sport. Led by Olympic Champions Diego Botín and Florian Trittel alongside strategist Nicole van der Velden, Los Gallos combine world-class talent with strong commercial momentum in one of SailGP's most passionate and strategically important growth markets.

Los Gallos joins Quantum Pacific's expanding portfolio of strategic investments across global sport, including Spanish football team Atlético de Madrid, Portuguese football team F.C. Famalicão, and Spanish cycling team Movistar Team. Quantum Pacific's entry into SailGP reflects a natural evolution, investing in a next-generation, global racing championship aligned with innovation, impact and high-performance sport.

SailGP Managing Director Andrew Thompson said, "This is another hugely significant milestone for SailGP and for the continued growth of the championship. Quantum Pacific brings a deep understanding of sport performance, commercial success and the maritime world. Spain is a cornerstone market for us, defined by its rich sporting culture, incredibly passionate fanbase and a winning SailGP team, and we're proud to see the team enter this next phase with such a strong ownership group behind it."

Antoine Bonnier, CEO of Quantum Pacific (UK) LLP said, "We are delighted to welcome Los Gallos into the Quantum Pacific family. The Spanish team is a natural fit for Quantum Pacific. The Iberian region is a market we know well and believe in fully - and SailGP, with its global audience and elite competitive format, is exactly the kind of high-growth sport platform we believe in. We are here to win, and we are here to build something that lasts."

Antonio Alquézar, CEO of Los Gallos SailGP Team said, "Welcoming Quantum Pacific as the new owner of the team marks a significant milestone in our journey. Their unmatched experience in sport provides us with the platform to build on our recent strong performances and to deliver the next phase of our success. We are grateful to SailGP for their support, and as a team we are excited to begin this new chapter with greater ambition and a clear long-term vision."

With the acquisition, Los Gallos becomes the 12th of 13 teams sold by SailGP, competing in the Rolex SailGP Championship this season. Spain is a key market for the league, with a rich sporting culture and a devoted fanbase that has embraced the high-speed, close-to-shore racing format. Following four successful seasons in Cádiz, the global sail racing championship will make its debut in Valencia on September 5-6, 2026.

As part of this acquisition, Quantum Pacific's Amit Singh and Harry Odling will join the board of Los Gallos, further reflecting their commitment to the long-term success of the team. Tifosy Capital and Advisory is serving as financial advisor to Quantum Pacific. Uría Menéndez is serving as legal counsel to Quantum Pacific.

The Rolex SailGP Championship returns this week, marking the league's highly anticipated South American debut, the Enel Rio Sail Grand Prix on April 11-12. Limited tickets remain, available at SailGP.com/Rio
