The Excess 13 is the winner of the European Yacht of the Year 2026, and a warrior at bluewater cruising. A testimonial from our dealer in French Polynesia David who led his team delivered this model to its owner from Les Sables d’Olonne to Gibraltar encountering the notorious December sea conditions in France: “The performance was incredible — she slices through the waves with speed and ease. The balance feels almost effortless, even in challenging conditions. EXCESS INTRODUCES “3000 MILES”, A DOCUMENTARY ABOUT TRANSATLANTIC PREPARATIONS
Excess announces the launch of 3000 MILES, a new documentary that delves into the preparations of two families getting ready to cross the Atlantic. The teaser will be screened in 50 cinemas across France as part of the Sailorz Film Festival. A STORY OF FAMILY AND MINDSET 3000 MILES captures the essence of adventure: the kind that begins long before you cast off. Over several weeks, the documentary follows two families – a Dutch couple with their three children aboard an Excess 11 and a French-South African couple at the helm of an Excess 14 – as they prepare for the ARC (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers), the reference for transatlantic rallies. Prepare the boat. Learn. Train. Anticipate. Doubt sometimes. Manage supplies, technical challenges, life on board, fears and excitement. Gradually, everything falls into place. Minds, movements, bodies. The Atlantic mode is on. 3000 MILES IS ON SCREEN! To mark the release, Excess has chosen the Sailorz Film Festival to unveil the teaser of 3000 MILES within 50 cinemas in France between February and April 2026. This allows the public to immerse themselves in this amazing adventure. The documentary will be released in April 2026 across all Excess platforms.

EXCESS, A TRAILBLAZER IN CREATING SUSTAINABLE BOATING EXPERIENCE
As a young French shipyard, Excess quickly risen to stardom with its revolutionary products and a disruptive mindset. The brand is also a trailblazer in creating sustainable boating experience. SUSTAINABLE YACHT DESIGN At Excess, we design cruising catamarans with greater sail area and reduced displacement, capable of sailing in all conditions. The Pulse Line models in our range of catamarans allow you to reduce your use of the engines and to sail even in the lightest of airs. RENEWABLE MATERIALS As for the composite construction, we’re gradually introducing natural fibers such as hemp into the build process of our boats. Excess is also testing cork decking as a sustainable alternative to traditional wood or synthetic materials, highlighting its light weight and renewable nature. HYBRID PROPULSION In 2021, we launched our first Excess prototype featuring electric propulsion, the Excess 15 “E’Lab”. A hybrid version of the Excess 11 is now available on market, equipped with a hybrid propulsion system, combining a genset and twin electric engines. The result: quiet docking maneuvers, fully electric cruising whenever you want, and optimized range. Soon, this technology will be offered aboard the all-new models. SUPPORTING MARINE CONSERVATION INITIATIVE In 2025, Excess provided two Excess catamarans to support Noam Yaron, an ultra-endurance swimmer for a 180-kilometer swim, whose mission was to raise awareness about marine conservation.
Take the new Excess 13 for example, the team designed the model with a less-is-more mindset. The aim is to offer greater functionality and comfort on board, while limiting any negative impacts as well as the amount of materials used. The result is lighter, yet sturdier boats that guarantee great sailing sensations. It features a rainwater recovery system on the coachroof, offering valuable autonomy for deck washing, rinsing, or dishwashing. The Excess 13 is designed with effective natural ventilation onboard, creating a cooler, more comfortable interior and reduced energy consumption. Several storage compartments on the Excess 13 are lined with natural cork.
