The Marion-Bermuda Race will celebrate its 50th Anniversary in 2027, marking five decades of Corinthian offshore sailing, camaraderie, and adventure. Since 1977, the 645-nautical-mile race has drawn generations of sailors from New England and beyond and earned its reputation as "every sailor's ocean race."
The 2027 edition will be a landmark event, building on the success of the 40th anniversary—when more than 50 boats competed—and aiming to surpass that milestone. Skippers, crews, families, and friends are invited to celebrate both in Marion and in Bermuda.
Anniversary highlights include special events at Beverly Yacht Club and the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club, expanded awards recognizing past champions and first-time crews, enhanced crew and family hospitality, the legendary Goslings Rum Parties, and a celebratory awards gala. The race will continue to blend tradition and innovation with ORR F-TCF scoring, YB Tracking, weather briefings, and offshore medical support.
"The Marion-Bermuda Race has built a legacy of accessible, family-friendly, and truly Corinthian offshore racing," said Executive Director Neil Redburn. "In 2027, we invite past and future competitors to help us celebrate this incredible milestone."
The race starts June 18, 2027, from Marion, Massachusetts, and finishes off St. David's Head, Bermuda.
