Luna Rossa and the Italian Sailing Federation (FIV) announce a new partnership aimed at supporting and accompanying Italy’s Olympic, youth, and para sailing teams on their road to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

As Official Sponsor and Technical Partner of FIV, Luna Rossa will outfit federation athletes, and its logo will appear on the sails of the various Olympic classes. Luna Rossa and FIV have long shared common values and a unified vision, both focusing on sporting excellence, technological innovation, and a strong commitment to educating the next generation of sailors.

This partnership formalizes a relationship that has already been well established and further expands the collaboration launched in 2022 with the FIV Foil Academy – Powered by Luna Rossa, created to develop young Italian talents in foiling sailing.

As part of the agreement, Luna Rossa and FIV will also collaborate on the technological development of boats and equipment, promoting research and innovation. The goal is to share expertise, experience, and know-how gained through America’s Cup campaigns to support the technical staff and High-Performance athletes throughout their development pathway.

Francesco Ettorre, President of the Italian Sailing Federation, commented: «Federation life is marked every four years by a pathway dedicated to the education and growth of High-Performance athletes. This journey requires expertise and working environments suited to the complexity of a sport that is constantly evolving. Collaboration with leading technical partners represents added value for our programs and for the entire Italian sailing movement. This agreement with Luna Rossa is part of a relationship built over time, grounded in shared expertise, vision, and a strong focus on athlete development. The know-how of an America’s Cup team like Luna Rossa represents an excellence and a growth accelerator not only for our federation but for the entire sailing community. Sharing the same vision for our goals will naturally foster a highly integrated pathway involving many Italian athletes».

"I am extremely pleased to launch this partnership, which strengthens a journey built over time on shared values and objectives", said Max Sirena, CEO of Luna Rossa. "For years, the team and the Italian Sailing Federation have worked together on a project aimed at identifying and developing the next generation of sailing talent, and supporting FIV on the road to the next Olympic Games is a further step in that direction. Moreover, seeing the Luna Rossa logo on Olympic boats and alongside the young women and men preparing for the Los Angeles Games is a great source of pride for all of us".

Alongside this new collaboration, Luna Rossa and FIV will continue working together on the FIV Foil Academy – Powered by Luna Rossa project, as well as on the Luna Rossa Clinics, technical and athletic training sessions for athletes selected by FIV, held at the team’s base in Cagliari.
