The Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja today presented the regatta that will be held from Thursday 29th January to Sunday 1st February. The event promises excitement on the water and brings together the best sailors in the Optimist class, both nationally and internationally.

The Euromarina Optimist Torrevieja 2026 is already under way. The children's sailing event, a regatta to be held from Thursday 29th January to Sunday 1st February, was presented today at the Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja, attended by Diana Box, Councillor for Sports at Torrevieja Town Council; Carlos Torrado, President of the Valencian Community Sailing Federation (FVCV); Patricia and Josephine Quesada, co-directors of Euromarina, and Carlos Carmona, president of the RCN Torrevieja, accompanied by Alejandra Sáez, sailing member representative RCNT.

The Torrevieja regatta has lived up to all expectations in its 18th edition, bringing together more than 400 sailors from 28 countries. Today's presentation highlighted not only the high level of participation, but above all the quality of the work carried out by the organising committee in recent months.

Patricia Quesada, representing the Euromarina brand, highlighted the importance and enormous visibility that the regatta has for Euromarina. In this regard, she said: "It is a great pleasure for us to continue sponsoring this regatta, which brings together so many nationalities and is a way of showcasing the Costa Blanca and all the positive values it conveys, not only in terms of sport, gastronomy and lifestyle. It is a great pleasure to continue supporting this major national and international regatta".

In its interview, Torrado emphasised that 'for the Valencian Community, hosting a competition of this nature in a month like this is a fabulous showcase for everyone,' adding that "right now, the Optimist Torrevieja Euromarina regatta is the highest quality event of its kind and is almost like a mini world championship. For the sailors in our region, and specifically in this club, it is a fabulous opportunity."

The Torrevieja councillor, for her part, wanted to highlight that: "Once again, we are presenting this very important trophy. It is coming of age, with 18 editions, and I always like to highlight the day-to-day work that Torrevieja does. This trophy is part of Torrevieja's 2026 sporting events calendar, a programme that is a real economic driver for the city,' adding: 'Torrevieja is positioning itself as a tourist and sporting destination, and that is already a reality, not just a concern. Every year, we consolidate the fact that sports tourism events have a significant impact on our city, and we do so with the highest standards and at a much higher level, striving for excellence in sporting events."

The Club President closed the presentations. Carmona made special mention of Euromarina's support. 'I would like to thank our main partner. For 12 years now, the Quesada family has supported and collaborated in this regatta, which for us is the most important event held at our Club throughout the year.'

Carmona gave a brief overview of what the Optimist regatta is all about. "I remember when we started 18 years ago, a Swedish team came, then a Finnish team, then we managed to get a Polish team to come, and now, as Carlos Torrado, president of the federation, has said, and I am grateful to have him here with us, as the Councillor for Sports, we have now reached 28 countries, countries as unique as Brazil, Canada, the United States, countries from all over Europe, and even countries from the African continent. This gives us an idea of what it is and what it represents not only for Torrevieja, but also for Spain and internationally," he concluded.
