C-MAP® introduces updated cartography for New Zealand

C-MAP®, a global leader in digital marine cartography and cloud-based mapping solutions, announced a significant update to its New Zealand charts, now featuring the newly designated Hauraki Gulf Protection Areas across its DISCOVER™, REVEAL™, and X Gen charts.
This update ensures boaters, anglers, and marine enthusiasts have clear, accurate visibility of marine protection zones directly on their charts, supporting safe navigation and responsible fishing practices. The protected areas are displayed using intuitive colour coding for easy identification:
- Green - Seafloor Protection Areas
- Yellow - High Protection Areas
- Red - Marine Reserves
The updated charts are expected to ship by the end of January. Consumers with a current C-MAP subscription can update their charts at C-MAP.com, or the X Chart Manager on compatible Simrad® and B&G® chartplotters. Customers with registered charts continue to benefit from 12 months of free updates from the date of purchase.
