The Prize Distribution and Closing Ceremony of the SDAT ASAF India International Youth Sailing Championship 2026 (11th India International Regatta) was held at the Regency Ballroom, Hyatt Regency, Anna Salai, Chennai, marking the successful conclusion of the international youth sailing championship.

The ceremony was graced by Thiru. Udhayanidhi Stalin, Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, as the Chief Guest, who distributed trophies and medals to the winning sailors across various classes and congratulated them on their outstanding performances during the regatta.

The event was also held in the august presence of Director General Paramesh Sivamani, AVSM, PTM, TM, Indian Coast Guard, who appreciated the efforts of the organisers and encouraged young sailors to pursue excellence in maritime sports.

Organised by the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT) i n association with the Tamil Nadu Sailing Association (TNSA) and under the aegis of the Asian Sailing Federation (ASAF) and the Yachting Association of India (YAI), the championship saw participation from young sailors from India and several other countries, reinforcing Chennai's status as a major hub for international sailing events.

The regatta provided a strong competitive platform for emerging talent while promoting sportsmanship and international friendship among young athletes.

The ceremony concluded with high tea attended by dignitaries, officials, coaches, parents and sailors.
