A record turnout of 108 sailing teams combining college and high school participated in the 41st edition of the Rose Bowl Regatta in Long Beach, CA. Sailing teams came from throughout the United States for what is billed as the largest combined college and high school regatta in the world. The regatta was hosted by the United States Sailing Center - Long Beach, CA and the Sailing Team at the University of Southern California (USC).

Racing took place during a weekend forecast for rain and light to moderate winds. Sailors braved the elements and experienced light rain Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning before the racing. A south easterly breeze ranging from 3 to 8 knots presented some atypical Long Beach conditions. Four race divisions sailed including college (24 boats), High School Gold (32 boats), High School Silver (28 boats), and High School Bronze (24 boats).

One of the regatta highlights included the Saturday evening dinner which featured local Mexican cuisine served to over 500 people under a large tent at the US Sailing Center - Long Beach facility. Following dinner, participating colleges presented a brief summary of their school including their academic and sailing program highlights. This tradition has been continuing for 20 plus years and is always well received.
